History

Welcome to Mabelvale Magnet Middle School, Home of the Red Raiders.  Mabelvale is located in Southern Pulaski County and serves approximately 600 students from seven elementary schools.    We are very excited to begin another year of providing quality education for our students.  Since Mabelvale has become a magnet school, we have been enabled to enhance our courses and expand our course offerings.  Each student will take courses from one of the magnet strands.

Mabelvale's magnet strands are:
*Environmental Sciences
*Medical Investigations
*Information Communications Technology

The magnet strands were jointly chosen and adopted by both Mabelvale Magnet Middle School and J. A. Fair Magnet High School.  The strands were selected so that a seven-year graduated course of study can be offered to interested students.

The Environmental Sciences strand will offer courses that study the natural world.  Students will examine biomes, ecosystems, and will work to become positive influences in conserving the natural resources on our planet.  Medical Investigations will offer courses that focus on body systems.  Emphasis will center on keeping the human body working efficiently for a lifetime, including prevention of illness and disease.  The Information Communications Technology strand will examine the history and growth of communication, and provide practice in oral and visual presentation techniques using the latest technology for the dissemination of information.

As you become a student at MMMS, expect the very best of yourself.  Through continued study in a challenging magnet environment, you will be ready to meet the challenges in either a college or vocational setting.  Make each year exciting and productive!
